FMラジオの搭載
　iPodとは異なり、Zuneは一部のWindows Mediaデバイスと同様に、FMラジオを内蔵する。このFMラジオはRDBS（Radio Broadcast Data System）プロトコルに対応するもので、放送局はこのプロトコルにより、自局のコールサインや放送している曲名といった情報を流すことができる。

コンテンツの無償交換は行われない
　Zuneの詳細が発表される前に流れていたうわさの1つに、MicrosoftはiTunes Storeで購入された、Zuneで再生できないコンテンツや、Windows Mediaストアで購入された、Zuneで再生できない可能性があるコンテンツについて、Zune用への無償交換を行うというものがあった（再生できないのは形式の非互換のためではなく、DRM技術による制限のため）。このうわさは誤りだ。Microsoftは無料で視聴できる楽曲やビデオ、写真を幾つか収録してZuneデバイスを販売するが、無償交換用のダウンロード配信は一切行わない。

10種類のアクセサリ　
MicrosoftはZune用に10種類のアクセサリを提供する。PCドック、有線／無線リモコン、Zuneで曲を再生してカーステレオで聴くためのラジオトランスミッタなどだ（このトランスミッタはAutoSeek機能により、空いているラジオ周波数を自動的に検知できる）。こうした周辺機器の一部は、特定のユーザー層向けのパックにバンドルされる。例えば、Car Packには充電器とラジオトランスミッタが含まれる。

　iPodと同じように、Zuneは独自仕様のコネクタを備え、Microsoftはアドオンを開発する権利をライセンスする。サードパーティエコシステムの発展がiPodの普及拡大に一役買っており、Microsoftはそうしたサードパーティサポートの促進を目指し、これまでにAltec Lansing、Belkin、Harman Kardon and JBL、Klipsch、Logitechなどの企業を、Zune周辺機器を開発するパートナーとして獲得している。
