CSK to provide Premium Operation Service based on iCan Provider Suite

On April 22, the 2nd day of the "caworld 2002" conference held by Computer Associates International, Inc., iCan SP, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CA and CSK announced CSK will launch a Premium Operation Service business that implements service level management for customer companies, based on the iCan Provider Suite, a service management solution provided by iCan SP.

The premium operation service announced by CSK is intended to provide high value-added information system operation service to corporations in Japan. Providing three solutions -- service level management, IT resource management and cost allocation management -- makes it possible to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) of customer corporations and improve return on investment (ROI), the company said.
Teiichi Aruga, CSK executive vice-president said, "As the largest independent information service company, we have been providing a consistent range of IT solutions, from consulting, system integration and system operation to business process outsourcing (BPO). We believe service level agreements (SLAs) and the IT resource management field are very important so we are preparing to provide a premium operation service. The iCan Provider Suite provides every functions required for our purposes."
CSK selected the iCan Provider Suite for their premium operation service because the product is a comprehensive service management solution, the company said.
iCan Provider Suite consists of five products: iCan Meter, which monitors the operation status of data, application, service and networks, iCan Assure, which is used to manage SLAs, iCan Bill, which provides various billing solutions, iCan Provision, which manages new customers and account information, and iCan View, which can be used to manage the above four functions on a unit base via the Web.
iCan SP CEO Nancy Li commented, "Our products completely support Japanese and we have a strong commit to the Japanese market. Through cooperation with CSK, we want to establish one form of business in the Japanese market."
CSK plans to explore three operation services, provisioning of premium operation service via consulting, system design, and introduction support services to configure high value-added system infrastructure, system operation entrusted service within the CSK group and ASP type services within the CSK group.
Initially, CSK Network Systems, a CSK group company, plans to begin ASP service provisioning.
Aruga also said, "We want to start begin offering our premium operation service around May or June," adding that, "We will carefully determine who our customers are and begin trials."
At the caworld 2001 held last year, iCan SP announced a tie-up with Kyocera Communication Systems Co., Ltd. (KCCS) in the data center business for wireless.
