MS、「Office Communications Server 2007」をβ公開

Microsoftは、Office Communications Server 2007をIT関係者2500人を対象にβ公開した。VoIP機能のほか、Office 2007のアプリケーションからの直接電話も可能。

　米Microsoftは12月11日、企業向け音声通信サーバ「Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007」のβ版を、ITプロフェッショナル2500人を対象に公開した。

　Office Communications Server 2007は「Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005」の後継で、既存の企業内電話インフラにVoIP機能を統合する。Office Word 2007やOffice Outlook 2007、Office CommunicatorなどのMicrosoft Office 2007アプリケーションから、クリック1つで直接電話をかけられるようになる。

　SIP（Session Initiation Protocol）をネイティブサポート、Nortel Networks、Alcatel-Lucent、Avaya、Cisco Systemsなどの通信機器と互換性があるという。
