RPMパッケージで提供されていないPOP3サーバソフト「qpopper」は、自らの動作環境を構築する必要がある。Red Hat Linux 6.xで採用されていたスーパーデーモンinetdの場合には、次のように/etc/inetd.confファイルを編集することでqpopperへのPOP3接続が許可される。
# vi /etc/inetd.conf pop-3 stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd popper -s |
編集後は、inetdを再起動させれば利用できるようになっているはずだ。
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/inet restart |
一方、Red Hat Linux 7.xで採用されているスーパーデーモン「xinetd」の場合には、次のように設定ファイルを新たに作成する必要がある。
# which popper /usr/sbin/popper ←パス先を確認しておこう # vi /etc/xinetd.d/popper service pop-3 { disable = no socket_type =stream wait = no user = root server = /usr/sbin/popper server_args = -s } |
上記のような内容を作成した後には、次のようにxinetdを再起動させるのを忘れずに行おう。
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart |
