Amazon EC2、1年間限定でフリーミアムサービスを開始。日本でも利用可能：オルタナティブ・ブロガーの視点

Amazonが発表した11月1日から無料Webサービスを開始するというニュースについて、オルタナティブ・ブロガーの斉藤徹氏が、内容や限定機能などをいち早く紹介します。

　米Amazonが11月1日から無料Webサービスを開始すると発表した。機能限定で、期間は1年間だ。対象となるのは、2010年9月に発表したばかりの廉価Webサービス「Amazon EC2 Micro インスタンス」、新型Webサービス「Amazon Elastic Block Store(EBS)」、ストレージサービス「Amazon S3」など。

　Amazon EC2 Micro インスタンスについては、ITproのAmazon EC2が1時間1円台で使える「Microインスタンス」提供開始を参照いただきたい。

　発表された限定機能は次の通りだ。

AWS Free Usage Tier (Per Month):

• 750 hours of Amazon EC2 Linux Micro Instance usage (613 MB of memory and 32-bit and 64-bit platform support) − enough hours to run continuously each month*
• 750 hours of an Elastic Load Balancer plus 15 GB data processing*
• 10 GB of Amazon Elastic Block Storage, plus 1 million I/Os, 1 GB of snapshot storage, 10,000 snapshot Get Requests and 1,000 snapshot Put Requests*
• 5 GB of Amazon S3 storage, 20,000 Get Requests, and 2,000 Put Requests*
• 30 GB per of internet data transfer (15 GB of data transfer “in” and 15 GB of data transfer “out” across all services except Amazon CloudFront)*
• 25 Amazon SimpleDB Machine Hours and 1 GB of Storage**
• 100,000 Requests of Amazon Simple Queue Service**
• 100,000 Requests, 100,000 HTTP notifications and 1,000 email notifications for Amazon Simple Notification Service**

　In addition to these services, the AWS Management Console is available at no charge to help you build and manage your application on AWS.

　* These free tiers are only available to new AWS customers and are available for 12 months following your AWS sign-up date. When your free usage expires or if your application use exceeds the free usage tiers, you simply pay standard, pay-as-you-go service rates (see each service page for full pricing details). Restrictions apply; see offer terms for more details.

　** These free tiers do not expire after 12 months and are available to both existing and new AWS customers indefinitely.

　上記を超えた場合には通常料金が発生する、いわゆるフリーミアムモデルと言ってよいだろう。またこのサービスは、2010年11月1日から2011年11月1日までの1年間限定だが、上記のうち下三項目 (SimpleDB、SQS、SNS) については永続的に無料化するとのことだ。

　それと気になる適用地域だが、AWS全地域 (米国をカバーするバージニアやカリフォルニア、欧州をカバーするアイルランド、アジアパシフィックをカバーするシンガポール全域が含まれる)、つまり日本も対象になる。
